Marisa In StudioMarisa was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. Marisa’s father, Don Hunt, is a nationally acclaimed ceramics artist and teacher that pioneered the first of its kind “fine arts week” for high school students in Wisconsin.
Marisa grew up loving and appreciating the arts and often went to museums, art gallery openings, art festivals and spent much time in her father’s various art studios. She began taking art classes at a young age and discovered her passion for rendering figures, whether they were portraits or still life compositions. She continued taking classes at one of the best high schools for the arts in Wisconsin. But , it wasn’t until she became an exchange student in Belgium for a year where she attended private “college” and took art classes in French – that her talents began to take wing. Her experience abroad allowed her time to travel and study the masters at world-class museums such as the Louvre, Le Musee D’Ordsay, Musee National Picasso Paris, and many other museums in France, Belgium, Amsterdam, and Italy. In 1991, Marisa returned to Wisconsin to complete her undergraduate degree where she earned a BA with a minor in Art.
Marisa has a passion for art, but also for helping people. Marisa’s art classes, in particular painting classes, have been the foundation that began her love for painting. Her paintings use colors that inspire, themes that lift the spirit and compositions that invite the viewer to share the joy of beautifully rendered images.
In 2000 she married nationally acclaimed career coach and author, Robert Wm. Meier. Since that time she created the graphic art for his 4 published books. She is the mother of three children Arielle (5) and Colten (2 year) and Calais (1 - not pictured yet).
